~~~ Everybody Sing!!! ~~~
Each week, I visit every classroom in the school for a 30-minute lesson in music. Mostly we learn songs -- usually religious or seasonal selections -- but we also study a little bit of music theory, history, and appreciation. I also work with each grade to help them prepare for the liturgies that we celebrate throughout the year. Sometimes classes are held in Lucienne House (next door to the school) where we have a piano. Other times I play the guitar, or we just sing a capella; and we use rhythm instruments from time to time, too. Occasionally we use CDs or music downloaded from the Internet.
Our choir meets on Monday afternoon, 2:30-3:30, in Lucienne House. Students in Grades 3-8 are welcome join us.
If you wish to contact me for any reason, I check e-mails regularly or you may call me at my other job (Faith & Fellowship) - 708/383-9276.
Our children have beautiful voices, and sing remarkably well. It is a joy and a privilege to teach them and to sing with them.
Musically yours,
Mrs. Rakitan
